I have been active in the pro-Israel movement since I was a student at Ohio State over 20 years

ago. One of my early lessons in the movement was the importance of bipartisanship to the

effectiveness of our mission. I find the historical bipartisan support of the U.S.-Israel

relationship to be unique, powerful and critical to the unbreakable bond between the nations.

As the next Senator from Ohio, I will fight to ensure that the U.S.-Israel relationship does not

become a partisan issue. I am committed to working with Democrats and Republicans to build

coalitions of support for the relationship. I am also committed to combating figures in both

parties who attempt to build partisan walls on the issue.

Additionally, I will work to build support for the relationship among various constituency

groups. I recognize the importance of our movement not only bringing together leaders across

political parties, but also engaging African Americans, Hispanics, Evangelical Christians,

veterans, college students and other important constituencies.

Simply put, I will be willing to work with anyone who is open to advancing the cause of security

and prosperity for America and Israel. And conversely, I will fiercely combat anyone who is

looking to harm or undermine the important bipartisan nature of the US-Israel relationship.
